How was Lord Shiva created?
The great Hindu god Lord Shiva has many stories on his origin. He is a powerful god with a following that goes into millions. He is also one of the foremost gods in the Hindu Pantheon and the most important god of the Shaivites.
According to the sacred text of the Hindus, the Vedas and the Puranas, Lord Shiva is described as a god who has no beginning or end. He is seen as force that simply came into being when he was needed. Unlike all the other gods who have an origin story, like Ganesha, Ganga and Surya, Lord Shiva has no origin story. He is a god who came into being when his followers, to grant them their wishes, called upon him.
But why does Lord Shiva not have an origin or creation story? To answer this question we must delve deep into the Rig Veda and the Shiv Purana, which have always held the secrets of Lord Shiva. According to these holy texts of the Hindus, Lord Shiva is an eternal entity. He has neither a beginning nor an end. Lord Shiva was never born in the way you or I might think of it. He was created out of necessity. He has no mother or father. He is his own being. When he was called upon by devotes over 3000 years ago, Lord Shiva was suddenly there. And since he was never born in the traditional sense, he is not susceptible to death. Lord Shiva is an eternal being with no beginning and no end to his life. He has always just been there.
Many Hindu’s believe that Lord Shiva was created to be part of the Hindu Trinity or Trimurti. As his place is that of The Destroyer, he is seen as one who brings balance to the Hindu Trinity. In his destruction, Lord Shiva makes way for creation, for is it not true that only when things are destroyed can new and better things be created?
If one really wants to look for an origin point or story of creation of the great lord Shiva, one can simply think that when he was needed, Lord Shiva appeared. And since the world is always in need of a strong entity that will protect and destroy the evil in the world, Lord Shiva will never die, he will always be needed by those who believe in this amazing god. Lord Shiva is truly the god who has no beginning and no end, he is eternal.
